Children prepare to go back in time!

School children from all over the Island will be journeying back in time this week, when they visit a reconstructed Viking settlement in Peel.

The village, in the field next to the swimming pool, has been set up as part of the Red Viking Festival, which starts on Friday with a boat landing on the town's beach.

Before the start of the main festivities, the organisers are giving primary school children the opportunity to have a look around the site and meet some 'real Vikings'.

Vice chairman of Vikings of Mann Rodger Gimbert hopes to be able to give as many children as possible the chance to see what life was like in the Viking age:
