Enthusiasts complete water wheel project

by isleofman.com 1st July 2009

The historic water wheel at Tynwald Mills, St John's will be officially opened today.

A small group of volunteers came together in 2004 to carry out the work, and five years later the wheel and wheel pit have been completely restored.

The opening ceremony will be at the craft centre, at 3.30pm.

On a similar themes, the restoration of the derelict woolen mill building, started in 2001 as a community project to celebrate the Millennium, was completed in 2003.
