A Douglas woman accused of murder goes on trial today.
Twenty-eight year-old Arizona Devine Watterson, of Clifton Terrace, is alleged to have killed William James Rogers, known as Billy, in March last year.
James Davis reports (text, below, from attached audio file):
Miss Watterson has pleaded not guilty to murder and also denies committing an act against public justice by falsely telling police investigating the death that another man was responsible.
Mr Rogers died at Noble’s Hospital following an incident at Miss Watterson’s home.
Her trial, before Acting Deemster Turner, is scheduled to last three weeks.
A jury will be sworn-in before the prosecution opens its case later this morning.
