The NatWest Island Games in Aland officially begin this evening, with the opening ceremony.

Two hundred and thirty of the Isle of Man's top athletes flew out to the Scandinavian Island yesterday.

The games proper get under way tomorrow when, among others, the tennis, football and judo tournaments begin.

Judo competitor Floyd Askin has been named men's team captain (play audio file):

Chris Kinley and Tim Glover will report on the latest action involving the Manx team live from Aland, on the Back Page, from just after 6.30pm every day next week.
