Douglas Roadworks Update from DOT

by isleofman.com 26th June 2009

The Department of Transport can confirm that Circular Road in Douglas will reopen to traffic from tomorrow (Saturday 27th June) morning.

The works on Lord Street, which were delayed while Circular Road has been closed, will now get underway at 9.30am on Monday 29th June.

The closure of Circular Road was due to building demolition.

The Department will be reducing the width of footways on both sides of Lord Street (Coronation Terrace area) to lengthen the right lane turn into Ridgeway Street, currently a problem area for congestion during busy traffic periods.

All traffic coming into Douglas from a Peel Road direction will be diverted at both Circular Road and Ridgeway Street towards Victoria Street. Access to North Quay and from Fort Street will be unaffected.
