Fundraiser on Saturday for all weather pitch

by isleofman.com 26th June 2009

A small Douglas primary school is pushing ahead with big plans to raise money for a new astro-turf pitch this summer.

Pupils, parents and staff at Kewaigue set themselves the ambitious target of ?30,000 just three weeks ago, and already the money is rolling in.

From big business donations to children contributing the cost of their birthday parties, good progress is being made.

On Saturday, pupils and parents are staging a car wash at the TT Grandstand to raise more cash.

Fund raising organiser Sue Gee says the sloping, soggy school field at Kewaigue has to be replaced (play audio file):

The car wash at the Grandstand is from 10am to 3pm on Saturday.
