Lack of cable TV has affected digital timetable

A spokesman for a body which looks at electronic communications in Europe says the Isle of Man is unique when it comes to digital television.

Mark Thomas is from the Electronic Communications Committee which has been holding a conference in Douglas this week.

Over 100 delegates from 48 countries have been at the Hilton Hotel, discussing the radio spectrum, mobile broadband, satellite communications and wireless technologies in Europe.

Mr Thomas says the Island has been slower than some European countries to convert to digital because the setup here is more complex:
