DoT accepts school speed limit ruling

by isleofman.com 26th June 2009

Motorists are again being urged to obey temporary speed limits around schools in the Isle of Man, even though the road signs might not be legal.

A ruling on the road passing Braddan Primary School declared the 20mph limit operated during busy times at the school was not enforceable, and signs at 20 other schools are now being reviewed.

The Department of Transport accepts the ruling, after three motorists were acquitted of speeding , but Minister David Anderson is reminding everybody that children are more vunerable pedestrians than adults (play audio file):

Education Minister Anne Craine made a similar appeal to motorists earlier this week.
