Series of fundraisers starts this evening

by isleofman.com 26th June 2009

Hopes are high for tonight's fundraiser for injured sidecar pair Nick Crowe and Mark Cox.

Event organiser Rosie Christian says tickets have been selling fast but there are a few left, which can be snapped up today from Manx Radio's reception, the Sure shop in Strand Street or the Sulby Glen Hotel.

It all gets under way at Paramount City nightclub on Douglas Promenade at 8pm and includes an auction of exclusive TT items and a disco featuring DJs Chris Williams, Mike Reynolds and 'Minister of Spin' David Cretney.

A number of events have been arranged to raise money for the duo and their families, and a unique piece of TT memorabilia is being sold on ebay, as Rosie explains (play audio file):

Nick, from Jurby, and Mark, from Ramsbottom in Kent, face months of surgery and rehabilitation, as they recover from severe fractures received when they came off their sidecar on the approach to Ballaugh, during the second sidecar race at TT 2009.
