Having a Manx presence at the Cannes Film Festival is money well spent, according to Minister for Trade and Industry David Cretney.
Answering a question from Michael MHK David Cannan in the House of Keys today, he confirmed his department had spent ?57,000 attending the event this year, with the aim of promoting the Isle of Man's film industry.
He went on to say the figure couldn't be taken in isolation and he believed it would be a mistake for the Island not to attend Cannes:
