Derelict and dangerous buildings debate

Following the partial collapse of a former newsagent's premises in Circular Road, Douglas last week, questions are being asked about how many unstable buildings there are in the Isle of Man.

Staff from the adjacent Rose House were evacuated as a precaution and the building was later demolished, along with the one next door on the other side.

On Talking Heads today, Douglas borough engineer and surveyor Ian Clague said he wasn't sure how many buildings in the Island were derelict and at risk of collapse:
