Motorists who have been given speeding tickets within temporary speed limit zones outside schools may be able to overturn their convictions, after a landmark legal ruling.
Deputy High Bailiff Alastair Montgomerie said the 20mph zone outside Braddan School wasn't legal, because the Department of Transport hadn’t put the proper signs up.
He described the signs as vague and misleading and said he was surprised the DoT hadn’t operated to the minimum standards which applied in England.
