CMI Parish Walk 2009 hailed a success!

by isleofman.com 22nd June 2009

This year's Parish Walk surpassed previous years.

Race organiser Ray Cox says it was a tremendous event with many records being broken.

There were a record number of entrants with 1600 people taking part in the 85 mile challenge.

And there were also a record number of people finishing the race with a total of 187 crossing the line on Douglas Promenade.

History was also made when 74 year-old Michael Gray became the oldest person ever to complete the Parish Walk.

He walked with his daughter Stephanie and made it home 40 minutes inside the 24 hour deadline.
