Janice Quirk in the record books

by isleofman.com 21st June 2009

Jock Waddington was 12 and a half minutes ahead of second placed Janice Quirk who produced a fabulous performance to become the fastest woman ever to complete the Parish Walk.

She beat Sandra Brown’s record of 1998 by more than quarter of an hour, when she finished just before midnight in a time of 15:58:32.

She also was virtually an hour and a half quicker than her time from last year’s event when she finished in 10th place.

On the finishing line, her achievement hadn’t sunk in.
