Cooking competition highlights range of local produce

The I Love ManxChef initiative is under way, with the aim of finding the cook with the best recipes, using locally sourced ingredients.

At the launch, at Marks and Spencer's, Kathryn Sentence demonstrated just how exotic the results can be, cooking up such treats as Manx lamb quesadillas and Manx plaice with Gujarati curried beans.

Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne and Ray Craine of the Manx National Farmers Union pulled on their aprons to give her a hand.

General Secretary of the MNFU Belinda Leach really wants to get people thinking about how they use Manx produce:
