Man twice refused to give breath sample

by isleofman.com 19th June 2009

Sentence on a man who admitted a string of motoring offences has been adjourned by the High Bailiff for reports.

Twenty-five year-old Christopher Anthony Blakeley, of Loch Promenade in Douglas, failed to give a breath sample and also pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance, and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent.

Police noticed a motorbike being ridden in an unsteady manner towards Summerhill at 1.20am on June 1.

They stopped the bike and asked Blakeley to do a roadside breath test, which he refused.

He became wound up and walked off to the beach, where he was followed by officers and arrested.

He again refused to give a sample at Police Headquarters.

Blakeley was bailed until his next court appearance on July 14.
