TT inquest opens

by isleofman.com 18th June 2009

An inquest into the death of a Manx rider in last Friday's Senior TT has been opened and adjourned.

Deputy Coroner Alastair Montgomerie heard John Crellin died of multiple injuries when his machine crashed on the Mountain Mile.

The 55 year-old, who had recently returned to the Island following his third attempt to climb Mount Everest, had finished on the podium in the TTXGP earlier in the day.

The inquest was adjourned so further investigations can be carried out, and Mr Crellin's body was released to allow his family to make funeral arrangements.
