Man smashed pub window after being ejected

by isleofman.com 17th June 2009

Sentence on a 19 year-old man who smashed a pub window has been adjourned by the high bailiff for reports.

Ronald Justin Heald, of Victoria Road in Douglas, admitted smashing a window at Samuel Webb's public house on May 2.

Inspector Andrew Turner, prosecuting, said the defendant and two friends were ejected from the pub at 3.30pm because the licensee thought they'd had enough to drink.

At 6pm, as she was leaving, she saw the defendant who was drunk. He mouthed at her then picked up a wooden stake and smashed the window.

He ran off, but was caught by a number of bystanders outside the Sefton Hotel and held until police arrived.

Heald was detained until July 7 with a condition that he must not enter on-licence premises.
