Venue for 2010 music festival announced

Noble's Park in Douglas will be the venue for next year's Isle of Man Bay Festival.

The choice of location in the heart of the Island's capital will be welcomed by many.

The Manx Telecom-sponsored event aims to attract 10,000 people each night for concerts in Europe's biggest festival tent, although the line-up has not yet been announced.

Organisers say Noble's Park is on the doorstep of 35,000 people with easy access by car and plenty of parking.

Production managers came to the Island for a 'recce' last week, to plan the logistics of staging the event so soon after TT.

Ian Bone says there were clear drawbacks in staging the Peel Bay festival during the TT period:
