Fundraisers Wanted to Help Sidecar Duo

by isleofman.com 17th June 2009

Family and friends of TT sidecar duo Nick Crowe and Mark Cox, who were seriously injured during the Sidecar B race on Wednesday 10th June, are appealing to the public to help towards their recovery.

The pair are currently undergoing medical treatment in the UK and urgently require assistance in meeting ongoing expenses.

People are being urged to pledge a donation or plan their own fundraising activity. Current proposals include:

A Nick Crowe benefit night, for which ticket sellers and other helpers will be needed

An online auction of race memorabilia - can you donate a cherished souvenir?

A sidecar push round the TT course, led by Dan Sayle and Darren Hope. Volunteer help will also be needed for this and advertising space on the white fairing will shortly be for sale.

A quiz night at the Sulby Glen Hotel, hosted by Frank Mitchell

A fundraising Parish Walk effort by Kevin Ford from 3FM. Pledges can be sent directly to kevin@threefm

If you want to help out with any of the above events, or have your own idea for a fundraiser, get in touch with Rosie on (01624) 897240 or Haley on (07624) 243060.

TT sidecar lap recordholder Nick Crowe is presently in a serious but stable condition in a UK hospital. His passenger Mark Cox is awaiting transfer to a Liverpool hospital. The crash occurred on the opening lap of the Sidecar B race at Ballacobb, on the approach to Ballaugh; the race was subsequently cancelled.
