A road in Douglas will remain closed for at least a day after a building collapsed this morning (Wednesday).

The derelict former newsagents is next to offices at Rose House on Circular Road and staff were evacuated from the building.

The road from its junction with St Georges Street and Peel Road will be shut while the collapsed building is fully demolished.

No-one was hurt in the incident.

Incident Commander Sub-Officer Gary Hines says the situation is under control.
