Food safety promotion at local store today

People who food after its use by date could become very ill.

That's the message from the Island's Food Safety Unit, which believes the over 60s are the most likely to consume out of date goods.

As part of Food Safety Week, staff from the unit will be at the B&Q store today, helping the public to understand the difference between a use by date, and a best before date.

Food Safety Unit manager Ivan Bratty says foods marked with a best before date shouldn't cause any problems:
