Police seek information on tanker accident

by isleofman.com 16th June 2009

Police are appealing for witnesses to an accident on the Sloc Road yesterday.

It happened around 1.30pm when an oil tanker tipped onto its side and left the road.

The route had to be closed until 5 pm while around 4,000 litres of heating oil was transferred to another tanker. The vehicle was then lifted back onto the road by crane.

There was a small leak of fuel from the tanker which was cleared by Department of Transport workers.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, particularly people in two vehicles which were travelling south towards Ballakillowey at the time.

The number to ring if you can help is 631212.
