Fire crews prevent blaze spreading

by isleofman.com 16th June 2009

Fire fighters from Port Erin have been dealing with an incident not far from Cosy Nook Cafe, at the northern end of the beach.

Crews were sent to a structure described as a 'workers' hut', shortly after 4pm.

There was concern the fire might spread to a nearby house, but the flames were quickly brought under control by officers using jet hoses.

It's understood diesel in the hut was burning, and it's possible a leak from a drum might have somehow caught fire.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have also been at the scene.
