No plans for a new NSC grandstand

Plans to refurbish the NSC athletics track area do not include provisions to improve what's been described as the "poor design" of the grandstand.

Tourism and Leisure Minister Martyn Quayle told Tynwald in the current financial climate a new grandstand, or a complete redesign of the existing one, was "hardly a priority".

Mr Quayle was replying to a question from Onchan MHK Peter Karran who, among other things, asked if anything would be done to make the grandstand more sheltered for spectators.

Mr Quayle said the current structure was merely going to be repaired:
