'No jobs for the boys in government' - Brown

by isleofman.com 16th June 2009

The chief minister has been defending payments made to former public servants.

In Tynwald today, Tony Brown said he didn't believe there was any problem with the current system of regulation.

He also rejected a claim by Malew and Santon MHK Graham Cregeen that some individuals were benefitting from 'jobs for the boys' (play audio file):

There are no rules to prevent retired civil servants being given government paid positions, but there are some restrictions on people who draw public sector pensions applying for vacant public sector posts.
