It's hoped a long-running dispute into the status of a public footpath on the Langness peninsula will move closer to a conclusion next month.
The Department of Transport has arranged a Public Inquiry after a motion approved by Tynwald in December last year.
The issue began back in 2005 when local resident and Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson angered local ramblers when he closed a section of the path crossing his land to protect his family's privacy.
Since then, there has been a long-running dispute over the legal status of the footpath.
A local pressure group has been heavily involved, Public Rights of Way Langness, better known as PRoWL and they want the path open for everyone's use.
The decision to hold an Inquiry into the matter had been postponed by Tynwald but will now take place from July 20.
It will be held at the Mount Murray Hotel and Country Club beginning at 9.30am.
