In your wildest dreams, would you want to leap off a perfectly serviceable crane from a height of 160 feet above the Manx countryside?
If so, those dreams could soon become reality and put have-a-go daredevils in the record books for good measure.
The event is a charity bungee jump organised by the UK Bungee Club, in association with the Isle of Man Children’s Centre, which takes place at the Royal Manx Show on Saturday 8th August 2009.
The highest ever bungee jump to take place in the Isle of Man, it will take the IOMCC and willind daredevils to new heights.
The plan is to provide 100 adrenaline junkies with the chance to hurl themselves towards terra firma, for free, all in the name of charity.
Those who sign up for the hair-raising stunt, need to raise a minimum of ?105 with all proceeds going to the IOMCC. The minimum age for taking part is 14 and the organisers have a 100% safety record.
To further whet the appetites of local thrill seekers, there’ll be a competition on the day for the chance to win a free jump off Britain’s tallest bridge bungee, the 200 feet Transporter Bridge in Middlesborough.
The IOMCC’s Adventure Events Fundraising Coordinator Mark Eastham said he expected the Manx Show opportunity to be heavily subscribed.
'This is for one day only, so if you are something of an adrenalin junkie and you’d also like to support a local charity, then now’s the time to apply and ensure you don’t miss out,' said Mark.
If you’d like to take part in the Isle of Man’s highest ever bungee jump, participants must secure their slot BEFORE the big day with a ?30 deposit.
This can be done by contacting Mark Eastham on 676076 or markeastham@iomcc.org.im
