A Castletown man who battled to change the police complaints procedure says a Tynwald debate on the subject this week could have been avoided.
Roy Redmayne says a select committee report into his complaints about the police force recommended changes in 2006 which haven’t been implemented.
On Tuesday, Tynwald will consider whether it should change the rules to cover complaints against deputy chief constables in the wake of a high profile case against former senior officer Neil Kinrade.
Mr Redmayne says that’s something the Department of Home Affairs could have done three years ago.
