Tynwald sits next week

by isleofman.com 13th June 2009

Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander will feature in this month's sitting of Tynwald.

There are a series of questions relating to the Scheme of Arrangement and Depositors Compensation Scheme.

Also up for discussion is the Drugs and Alcohol Strategy.

There's a question from Michael MHK David Cannan who wants to know if the Treasury will provide information on the full cost of the Scheme of Arrangement.

That was the preferred repayment method, avoiding a liquidation of the bank.

The scheme was rejected last month.

Onchan MHK Peter Karran will be asking about the Drug and Alcohol Strategy, specifically on what action is being taken to support addicts and what facillities are on the Island to support partners and families.

Other subjects include the resurfacing of the track at the National Sports Centre and promotion of the Isle of Man at the Cannes Film Festival.

Live coverage of this month's sitting of Tynwald starts on Tuesday (June 16) at 10.30am on AM 1368.
