Death of a man with a passion for adventure

Family and friends of a Manxman with a great sense of adventure are mourning his loss.

John Crellin was a motorcycle racer, a mountaineer and an athlete who lost his life in a crash at the Mountain Box, on the fifth lap of yesterday's Senior TT.

The 55 year-old climbed the highest mountains in six of the world's seven continents but, in three attempts, was unable to reach the top of Everest.

Before setting off on his final assault on the summit, in April this year, he told Manx Radio about his passion for adventure:
