Sidecar race scrapped after crash

by isleofman.com 10th June 2009

This evening's Sidecar 2 race has been abandoned, following an accident at Ballacob on the approach to Ballaugh.

It happened on the first of three laps, and race organisers have confirmed the local pairing of Nick Crowe and Mark Cox were airlifted to hospital.

The official TT website says their Honda machine crashed and it's understood it was on fire.

It was unclear for some time whether the race would be restarted, but a short time ago (7.35pm) it was announced that wouldn't be happening.

This evening's practice session for solo machines has also been called off.
