Inquest to hear how biker lost his life

An inquest into the death of a visiting motorcyclist will be held at Douglas courthouse this afternoon.

Sixty-six year-old Frederick William Matterface, from Kent, died when his machine was involved in a collision with a road sweeping vehicle owned by the Department of Transport.

The accident happened at Ballasteen Farm, Andreas a week ago today.

Mr Matterface was pronounced dead at the scene.

The inquest will be conducted by the Coroner, Michael Moyle, at 3pm.
