Marshal flown to UK with serious injuries

by isleofman.com 9th June 2009

A travelling marshal was seriously injured in an incident at Keppel Gate, on the mountain section of the TT course, at the end of today's Supersport race.

It happened at about 1.30pm and TT organisers ACU Events Ltd have named the man as John McBride, from Douglas.

Mr McBride was initially admitted to Noble's Hospital, but has since been transferred to a hospital in the United Kingdom, to receive the specialist treatment he needs.

Organsiers say the roads were still closed at the time of the incident.

They say no further details are expected to be released in the next 24 hours.

Keppel Gate is alongside the 34th milestone.
