'Access corridors' will help people get home

by isleofman.com 9th June 2009

A number of 'access corridors' will be made available this evening, so people can drive across the TT course while the roads are closed.

They have been put in place because of the extended evening closure, following the postponement of all racing at the weekend.

The crossing points will be available for an hour, from 5pm.

Matt Kennaugh has more (text, below, from attached audio file):

There are four additional access points which are Saddle Road and Snugborough Avenue in Braddan; Old Church Road and Ballavitchel Road in Crosby; Douglas Road Corner and the Emergency Access to Faaie-ny-Cabbal in Kirk Michael; and Lheaney Road and Barrule Park in Ramsey.

The original crossing points, which will also be in use, are as follows:

Stoney Road and Tromode Road Douglas; Peel Road, between the Quarterbridge and Braddan Bridge; Old Church Road and Eyreton Road Crosby; Barregarrow crossroads, Michael; Station Road and Glen Road Ballaugh; Sulby Glen crossroads, Lezayre; and Albert Square and Princes Road in Ramsey.

Also, Signpost Corner and Bedstead Corner in Onchan and Douglas; Governor's Road and Victoria Road in Onchan and Douglas; and finally Victoria Road and Second and Third Avenues in Douglas.
