The Department of Transport and the Police advise that four additional TT Course access corridors are to be made available tomorrow(Tuesday, 9th June) to provide access for residents of certain estates.
The additional traffic management measures have been put in place due to the extended evening closure on Tuesday resulting from postponement of Saturday’s races due to weather conditions.
The four new access corridors are between:
• Saddle Road and Snugborough Avenue, Braddan
• Old Church Road and Ballavitchel Road, Crosby
• Douglas Road Corner and the Emergency Access to Faaie-ny-Cabbal, Kirk Michael
• Lheaney Road and Barrule Park, Ramsey
These are in addition to the normal crossing points which are at:
• Stoney Road and Tromode Road, Douglas
• Peel Road between the Quarterbridge and Braddan Bridge (Jubilee Oak)
• Old Church Road and Eyreton Road, Crosby
• Barregarrow crossroads, Michael
• Station Road and Glen Road, Ballaugh
• Sulby Glen crossroads, Lezayre
• Albert Square and Princes Road, Ramsey
• Signpost Corner and Bedstead Corner, Onchan and Douglas
• Governor’s Road and Victoria Road, Onchan and Douglas
• Victoria Road and Second and Third Avenue, Douglas
The access corridors are expected to be available for residents between 5.00pm and 6.00pm.
Residents are advised not to attempt to go on these roads after 6.00pm and no vehicles are to be left on the Course.
Subject to schedule, it is hoped that the roads will start to re-open from St Ninian's at approximately 8pm, with the course opened by 8.30pm - with the exception of the Mountain Section between Ramsey Hairpin and the Creg ny Baa, which should be opened by 9.30pm. The Department and the Police apologise that access to properties will not be available to all residents who live on or near the course, and the four new access corridors have been determined after detailed discussion with the Clerk of the Course.
