'Help keep the Island free from swine flu'

Isle of Man residents who develop flu symptoms after returning from the United Kingdom are being urged to contact their GP to be screened for swine flu.

Advice from health chiefs in the Island has been stepped up as confirmed cases of swine flu in the UK continue to increase.

The UK is now among 60 countries counted as 'infected'.

That means anyone who suffers flu symptoms within seven days of arriving in the Island from the UK should contact their doctor.

So far, there hasn't been a case of swine flu in the Isle of Man and Director of Public Health Dr Parameswaran Kishore wants to keep it that way:
