Hot weather food hygiene advice

The recent heatwave has prompted the government to issue a warning about the potential health risks associated with barbecuing food.

Those who enjoy the outdoor life are being told that if simple guidelines aren't followed food poisoning is a real possibility.

Food Safety Manager for the Department of Local Government and the Environment Ivan Bratty says it's important to ensure everything is properly cooked and meats aren't cross contaminated:
