A skeleton unearthed during work at the Nunnery could be more than 500 years old.
That's the opinion of archaeologists on human remains found in the chapel building, in the grounds of the International Business School, last month.
The bones haven't yet been removed from the site.
Curator of Field Archaeology for Manx National Heritage Andrew Johnson told Manx Radio the discovery was a surprise:
"...the first thing that was discovered was the skull, and there was quite a bit of excitement about that, with it being completely unexpected, really.
"As time has gone on, excavation has shown it is an intact skeleton, placed in a perfectly proper burial cut."
