School aims to improve playground

Governors at a local primary school have set themselves an ambitious target - to get pupils a playing surface which is flat and can be used in all weathers.

Kewaigue School needs to raise ?30,000 by the end of July to achieve the goal.

That would allow for the all-weather surface to be installed in the summer holidays, the only practical time to do it.

Parent governor Sue Gee was asked why the government isn't paying for the facility:
