by isleofman.com 1st June 2009

The Minister for Transport, David Anderson MHK, is pleased to welcome Geoff Corkish MHK and David Callister MLC to the Department.

Mr Corkish joins the Department as Member for the Properties Division. Geoff was elected as MHK for Douglas West in 2006 and has since enjoyed political membership of the Department of Trade and Industry and continues as a member of the Department of Tourism and Leisure.

Mr Callister joins as Member for the Harbours Division. David was elected as a Member of the Legislative Council in 2008 and has served as a member for both the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and Trade and Industry.

Mr Anderson said ‘I am delighted to be able to welcome our new members to the Department. I know that both Mr Callister and Mr Corkish are keen to get started to familiarise themselves with each of their Divisions and will relish their new roles.

‘Messrs Callister and Corkish join Juan Turner MLC (Works and Design) and David Quirk MHK, who, in addition to having responsibility for Drainage and IRIS, has taken over responsibility for Highways Division. This responsibility previously rested with Tim Crookall MHK, who has now taken up position of Chairman of the Water Authority and is also a political Member for DOLGE.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tim for all his hard work and commitment whilst with the Department and wish him well in his new roles.’
