Changes for benefit of government

by isleofman.com 30th May 2009

Rotating members of Tynwald between departments gives them greater experience of Government, says the Chief Minister.

Tony Brown announced a number of changes to Departmental members earlier this week and also proposed changes to the chairmen of some statutory bodies, including the Water Authority.

He says members may not benefit from the changes straight away but the experience could prove vital later in their political careers.

Statutory board chairmanships are reviewed every two and a half years, which Mr Brown believes provides an ideal opportunity for further changes.
