Man due in court after Castle Mona Avenue incident

by isleofman.com 30th May 2009

A Douglas man is appearing in court today, charged with offences following an incident in the town's Castle Mona Avenue on Tuesday night.

The 26 year-old, who hasn't yet been named, is accused of wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm, burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon.

A 34 year-old man, also from Douglas, who was involved in the same incident, has been released by police, who are continuing their enquiries.

They are still appealing to people with information which could help the investigation to come forward, and are particularly interested in the movements of a silver Citroen Saxo car, which is thought to have been driven away from Castle Mona Avenue shortly after the incident.

Police are again stressing the incident which led to the man being charged was an isolated one, and they are not looking for any other suspects.
