It's official - TT 2009 is here, with the first practice session on the Mountain Circuit due to start at 5pm today!
This year a large number of first-time competitors will take on the world’s toughest and most exciting motorcycle races.
Among them are brothers Ben and Tom Birchall of Mansfield, who are currently battling at the top of the World Sidecar Championship.

Meanwhile, roads around the Billown Circuit will close at lunchtime today, as the Blackfords pre-TT Classic Road Races continue.
The closure will be from 1pm until no later than 3.45pm.
The event started last night with a practice session, and reaches a climax on Monday.
