Exotic pets - Mandate interview

Exotic pets have been in the news recently, after North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson asked questions in the House of Keys about their importation, and sale in the Isle of Man.

Assurances were given by the agriculture minister that everything was being done in accordance with the law, and he said he was confident the animals, including snakes, spiders and lizards, were being well looked after.

Nigel Ties sells exotic pets from premises at Eden Park, on Cooil Road, Braddan.

On Mandate at One he told John Moss supply is tightly regulated, and such animals are both popular and well cared for (play extended audio file):
