The organisers of next year’s Isle of Man Bay Music Festival are encouraging Manx residents to visit their website from today (Thursday 28th May) to register for exclusive news on artists and tickets, and receive a monthly update.
Street Heritage says the festival, which is taking place on 18-20th June 2010, will be one of the most exciting events ever to be staged in the Isle of Man. Anyone who signs up from this morning will become the amongst the first to learn which artists are playing, and will have priority ticket purchase over those who have not registered. They will also receive monthly updates on the very latest news.
A registration page will be available by visiting www.isle-of-man-bay-festival.com and clicking through to the ‘registration’ link.
Festival Director Jonathan Irving said 'In 2007 we attracted big, big names including The Who, Madness, The Stranglers, Ronan Keating, Sugababes, Bonnie Tyler, McFly and many more. Next year our line-up will include major A-list artists. I can promise that the Bay Festival will be more exciting than the Peel Bay in 2007, if that is possible.
'Pre-registration is essential for anyone who wants to keep up to date with the latest exciting news and also have priority ticket purchase or who just wants to know who’s going to be playing. I would encourage everyone to go to the site and sign up.'
The event is being held in the week immediately after TT 2010 and in preparation for the major logistical exercise, all the key people involved in the Bay Festival are meeting during this year’s TT Week. Production managers Richard Agar and Ian Bone will be on the island to ensure the three-week build time for the giant festival tent next year dovetails seamlessly with the TT.
Mr Irving said 'Between them, Richard and Ian have over 50 years’ experience in running major multi-stage music festivals throughout Britain, and have produced events for artists such as Madonna. It will be the first opportunity we have had to bring together everyone for a full meeting since 2007.
'They include the tent master, heads of production, staging, lighting and PA systems together with the whole of the Island-based festival team including artist liaison, event safety, security, production and concession management, production logistics and sales and marketing management.
'We have now finalised our venue location and will be making an announcement in June, and the people who pre-register will be amongst the first to know. I think the public will be really pleased when they hear that we have secured such a fantastic location for a fantastic event.'
