The first winner of the Manx Two Day Trial has passed away.
Artie Ratcliffe won the event in 1955 on a Matchless and also recorded victories at the Scottish Six Day Trial in 1950 and 1954.
He moved to the island in 1973 having fallen in love with the place - the rest of the family followed.
Other notable successes were the 1957 Scott Trial and two British Expert Championship titles.
Artie was 84 years-old and died peacefully after a very active life.
