A special edition 50 pence coin is about to be issued, although it's predicted none will be left after the TT.
The coin, scheduled for release on June 1, features TT star John McGuinness riding a Honda bike during his record breaking lap two years ago.
They will go into general circulation, but many TT fans are expected to hold onto them as a collectors' item, rather than spend them.
Marian Kenny reports (text, below, from attached audio file):
Fourteen-times TT winner John McGuinness had the honour of striking the first of the coins bearing his image, which commemorate Honda's 50th year at the TT.
As well as the circulatory coins, 5,000 collectable silver pieces have been produced as well.
McGuinness was joined by Isle of Man Treasury member Alex Downie, MLC, to see how the coins are made at Europe's largest private mint, the Pobjoy Mint in Surrey.
A set of stamps celebrating Honda's anniversary, which features legendary riders through the decades, will also be available to TT fans.
