Politicians in the Isle of Man are being briefed today on what's described as an alternative to the current review of public sector pensions.
Mike Clancy, the deputy general secretary of the union Prospect, is addressing a majority of the members of Tynwald and sees the session as "an opportunity to engage with the decision makers".
He says he will outline an alternative which overcomes some of the criticisms levelled against the government's proposals, while still addressing the main concerns which have been expressed by Prospect members.
In February, the Manx government began a six month public consultation on a review which recommends unifying the existing schemes into a single package.
Prospect has a membership of nearly 1,600 workers in the Isle of Man.
