Impaled seagull stops the traffic!

by isleofman.com 27th May 2009

An injured seagull brought traffic to a standstill in the centre of Douglas this afternoon.

Athol Street was closed from the Old Couthouse to Lord Street, while fire crews attended to the bird, which had become impaled on an aeriel on the roof of Dickinson Cruikshank.

An operation to free the gull was successful.

The bird survived and is now being looked after by the MSPCA.
